New Ventures Maine will offer a free introductory business planning workshop at Katahdin Valley Health Center, 529 South Patten Road in Patten on Monday, July 31 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Karin Petrin, Microenterprise Coordinator for New Ventures Maine in Aroostook County and the trainer for the workshop, notes, “This class answers basic questions related to business ownership and start up. It can help you decide if self-employment may be right for you and get you pointed in the right direction.”

This one session workshop will help you decide if self-employment is the right choice for you. The class covers the pros and cons of owning your own business, the steps needed for start-up, the major elements of a business plan, and the many resources within Aroostook County and statewide available to help you succeed.

Men, women, couples, and all entrepreneurs who are interested in starting a business are welcome in the class. Business owners who want a refresher on business planning, marketing, and financial cash flow planning are also welcome to attend.
