Young Mainer Turns the Grinch Into a Holiday Hero for the Homeless
Sometimes the most illuminating lights during Christmas aren’t on trees or homes; they’re within the simple acts of kindness, shining brightly from the youngest souls.
This week, a Maine Mama, Sara, shared a short video with me of her son, Evan doing something remarkable.
The video shows Evan out in public dressed up as none other than the Grinch, handing out gifts to homeless individuals.
A Grinch With a Heart of Gold
In this short clip, you can see the power of giving, very clearly. Complete with his Santa coat and green skin, Evan walked the streets delivering bags of essentials to those who very much so needed those items
You can watch one of the delivery moments here: Evan’s Grinch Giveaway on YouTube Shorts. .
We can all agree that behind the costume is a person who’s heart is massive. I asked Evan why he did this.
Grab your tissues. Evan told me the following,
“Why did I do this? Because it’s simply the right thing to do. There’s already so much negativity in the world, and I want to leave a positive impact on as many people as I can before I die. If this inspires even one person to do something kind, big or small, then it’s worth it.”
He goes on to say that this isn’t a one-time holiday moment, this is the start of something much larger,
“This is only the beginning. I’m just getting started.”
Evan was passing out bags filled with food and personal hygiene items., things like toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, cookies, water, even some warm socks.
Evan is 20 years old and was driving through Lewiston looking for anyone who might need a little help and something to brighten their day.
His mother couldn’t be more proud of him, to say the least and it’s very east to see why.

Maine is proud of you, Evan and we've got your back.
In a world that can feel extremely sad and heavy, Evan shows us all that kindness can change someone’s day. Let's take a page from his book.
