Earlier today, Emera Maine crews headed to New Sweden to safely make repairs after reports of a tree falling on a line, interrupting service to about 1,300 customers in Caribou and other nearby communities.

According to Emera Maine spokesman, Judy Long, crews had already restored service to all but a handful of customers (fewer than 10) by about 1 p.m. this afternoon.

She had hoped to get those few reconnected as soon as safely as possible.

If you encounter a downed line in your area, please do not touch the line and call Emera Maine as soon as possible at 1-855-363-7211.
