
One Man Died after Tractor Trailer & Dump Truck Crash in Maine
A 64-year-old man died Wednesday and a 39-year-old man was seriously injured after a tractor trailer and dump truck crashed at the intersection of Lapoint Road and Merrill Road in Stetson.
Dump Truck Driver Died on the Way to Hospital
The Maine State Police said the dump truck driver, Scott Webber from Glenburn, died while being transported to the hospital.
Tractor Trailer Driver Seriously Injured
The tractor trailer driver, Peter Omweno of Denton, Texas, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.
Crash at Intersection
The tractor trailer “failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Merrill Road and struck a dump truck,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Utility Pole Snapped and Dump Truck Rolled Over
The tractor trailer then hit a utility pole and broke it. The pole ended up on top of the semi. The dump truck rolled over and landed on its side.
Ongoing Crash Investigation
The intersection was closed for hours. The crash investigation is ongoing.
