A 28-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle in Mechanic Falls.

Man Walking Across the Street Hit by Vehicle

The Mechanic Falls Police Department said Matthew Webb was crossing Pleasant Street around 9:37 pm when he was hit.

Pedestrian Seriously Injured and Taken to the Hospital

He was seriously injured and transported to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment.

Woman and Male Passenger Not Injured in Crash

The 28-year-old driver in a Ford Edge, Taylor Brown from Poland, Maine, and her adult male passenger were not injured. They were examined at the scene and medically released.

Street was Closed for Four Hours

The street was closed to traffic for almost four hours for the crash investigation and to clear the area.

Crash Reconstructionist Investigating

The Lewiston Police Department assisted with a crash reconstructionist at the scene.

Multiple Units Respond to the Crash for Assistance

First responders included the Mechanic Falls Police Department, the Mechanic Falls Fire Department, Lewiston PD, the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, the Androscoggin County District Attorney’s Office, and United Ambulance Service.
