A 53-year-old woman’s death was ruled a homicide after she was found dead Saturday morning in Waldoboro.

Body Found During Well-Being Check

The Waldoboro Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office located the body of Levern Kelley following a well-being check at her residence on Genthner Road.

Autopsy

Her body was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy.

Death Ruled a Homicide

“The manner of death has been ruled a homicide. The cause of death is not being released at this time,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Major Crimes Unit Investigating Homicide

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. Police said there is no danger to the public.
