When you see a Caribou Queen, just know that there is more to these little ladies than just a fancy crown. They are also committed to serving the community they live in.

This year, the Caribou Queens have committed themselves to donate blankets with words of encouragement inscribed upon them for those who are undergoing cancer treatments at the Jefferson Cary Cancer Center in Caribou, Maine.

For the past three years, all proceeds from the Miss Caribou and Little Miss Caribou pageants have been sponsored by the Caribou Lister-Knowlton Auxiliary Post 9389 and their donations are destined to go towards the purchasing of durable medical equipment such as rocker recliners, in order to meet the needs and comfort those who are battling cancer and making treatment visitations.

We're thankful for all of the community service these little ladies provide for those within their own communities.

Presenting and accepting a recent blanket donation are Caribou Queens and staff from The Jefferson Cary Cancer Center (L-R) back:

Kaitlyn Umphrey, RN, OCN, Kearstin Coty, Teen Miss Caribou, Makenzie Conroy, Miss Caribou, Naomi Cote, Junior Miss Caribou, Valerie Perry, RN, Jenn Plant, RN, OCN, JCCC & Specialty Clinics Manager (L-R) front: Lauren Lister, Pre Teen Miss Caribou and Vivian Bell, Little Miss Caribou.
