The West District RCMP has taken an Oromocto man into custody one week after they reported him to be unlawfully at large.

Police say 29-year-old Winton Saulis was arrested on Tuesday, January 16 in Fredericton.

Police from the West District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and the Fredericton Police Force located and arrested Saulis in the late afternoon, after receiving information from the public that he was in the Fredericton area. He was arrested without incident and has been remanded into custody.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for the apprehension of 29-year-old Winton Saulis for breach of conditions. Police say they have made several attempts to locate Saulis but have been unsuccessful so far.

Saulis is described as 5'7”, 166 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has several prominent tattoos, including tear drops on his right cheek, 'SAULIS' on his neck, and several additional tattoos on both hands and upper arms.

Police believe he may be in the Fredericton area.
