35-Year-Old Man Wanted for Murder Arrested in Maine
A 35-year-old man wanted for murder was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop in Brewer.
Deputies Surrounded Vehicle
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said Devon Joseph Holmes of Brooklyn, New York was taken into custody on Wilson Street after deputies surrounded his vehicle.
Suspect had a Arrest Warrant for Murder
The Sheriff’s Office were conducting a drug investigation in Milford when they identified Holmes who had a arrest warrant for murder in New York.
Police Conducted Surveillance of Wanted Man
“Maine Drug Enforcement Agents and the Holden Police Department, Penobscot County Deputies conducted surveillance of Holmes,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
Arrested during Traffic Stop
He was apprehended after he left a home in Holden and traveled to Brewer.
Murder Suspect Awaiting Extradition
Holmes was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and is awaiting extradition to New York. The investigation is ongoing.
