Brunswick News reports a blue Pontiac Sunfire collided with a red Pontiac SUV in the Carlow area, causing major damage to both vehicles. The Florenceville-Bristol Fire Department and RCMP responded to the scene.

The Bath Regional Fire Department was also called in and used the Jaws of Life to free the injured woman from the SUV. She was transported by Ambulance NB to the hospital. There's no word on the severity of her injuries.

Route 105, which runs along the Saint John River between Florenceville-Bristol and Bath, was shut down for about an hour Saturday while the accident scene was cleared.

The RCMP is investigating the cause. We'll have more details as soon as possible.
