A 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were found dead after a murder-suicide in Minot on Thursday.

Man and Woman in Maine Died in Murder-Suicide

The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office said the bodies of Emali Sallee from Lewiston and Tyson Peters from Minot were found by Deputies following a welfare check around 6:00 am at 425 Millet Road.

Major Crimes Unit Investigating

“The Maine State Police Major Crimes unit was contacted to assist in the investigation,” said Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

Autopsies Done

The bodies were taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for autopsies to be done.

Woman’s Death was Homicide and Man’s Death was Suicide

Sallee’s death was ruled a homicide and Peters’ death was determined to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

In a Relationship at the Time

“Sallee and Peters were in a relationship at the time,” said Moss.

No Threat to the Public

Officials said it appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. No additional information was released.
