Wintergreen to Feature Area Visual Arts Teachers and Students

The creative work of Aroostook County visual arts teachers and their students is being held at the Wintergreen Arts Center during the month of March, Youth Art Month.

Participating visual arts teachers are members of Northern pARTners, a group of regional art educators from school districts in Aroostook County that include Presque Isle/Mapleton, Caribou/Limestone, Houlton, Hodgdon, Mars Hill, Easton, Fort Fairfield, Washburn, Ashland,  Connor, Van Buren and Madawaska/St. Agatha.

Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen’s executive director, says celebrating Youth Art Month is a great way to highlight visual arts education and recognize the dedication of visual arts teachers from the local school systems.

The opening reception will be held on March 1, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, during the First Friday Downtown Art Walk. Refreshments will be served and the event is free and open to the public.
