Maine Family Road Trip Stop: Wild Blueberry Land Opens This Week
Planning a Maine family road trip? Add this giant blueberry landmark to your summer itinerary.
One of Maine’s most Instagram-worthy roadside attractions is ready to welcome visitors back for another summer season, and it’s the kind of quirky stop the whole family will remember.
Tucked away in Columbia Falls, Wild Blueberry Land is a hidden gem that turns a simple road trip stop into a full-on Maine adventure. If you’re looking for a place where kids can stretch their legs, parents can grab a tasty treat, and everyone can snap a memorable photo, this giant blueberry destination delivers.
Summer in Maine means endless adventures, but few stops are as unique, or as eye-catching, as Wild Blueberry Land.
Located at the corner of Routes 1 and 187 in Columbia Falls, the iconic blueberry-blue domed shop is impossible to miss. Part bakery, part gift shop, and part roadside attraction, it has become a must-visit destination for travelers exploring Downeast Maine.
Wild Blueberry Land officially opens for the 2026 season, this Wednesday, June 24. After opening day, visitors can stop by Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Inside, you’ll find plenty of blueberry-inspired goodies, including butter, syrup, scones, honey, vinegar, and pancake mixes. Outside, families can enjoy a round of mini golf and take plenty of photos with one of Maine’s most recognizable roadside landmarks.
And this stop isn’t just fun, it’s perfectly tied to Maine’s identity. The state produces about 99% of the nation’s wild blueberries, making it the largest producer of wild blueberries in the United States.
While you’re there, be sure to check out the Wild Blueberry Heritage Center and bring your camera. From family snapshots to TikTok videos, this oversized blueberry has become one of Maine’s most shareable summer stops.
