There are many reasons why Maine might really love their popular crustacean, the lobster. Part of it is the taste and the other part is, well, the money they bring in.

You may not have known this, but about 40 million pounds of lobsters are caught off the coast of the Pine Tree State and account for about 90-percent of the supply of the nation.

That's a pretty big deal.

So if lobsters run say $8.99 a pound, 40 million pounds would basically bring about $360 million dollars in a year. That's a lot of cash, but more so, a lot of lobstah!
