UM’s Sole Grabs Conference Honor

Laia Sole was named the America East Rookie of the Week for her efforts against Purdue and #10 Mississippi State in the Tip-off Tournament this past weekend for the UMaine women's basketball team.

Sole played in her first action with the Black Bears after being recruited to the team for this 2016-17 season.  The freshman logged 11 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in the two contest weekend.  Sole was named a member of the Tip-Off Tournament All-Tournament team for her efforts.

The Black Bears (1-1) will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to face Harvard.
