One person was arrested Friday night after fleeing from the scene of a domestic disturbance in Greenbush and crashing a vehicle into a house in Old Town.

Another vehicle also crashed after trying to flee from police in Old Town.

Suspect Fled the Scene Before Deputies Arrived

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said “one of the individuals involved had left the property before deputies arrived.” 

Police On the Look Out for Vehicle

Local law enforcement was alerted to the suspect who fled and was on the look out for the vehicle.

Suspect in Domestic Disturbance Tried to Flee and Crashed Vehicle

Shortly after, the Old Town Police Department located the suspect in the vehicle and tried to pull it over. The driver attempted to flee from police, but crashed into a house.

Second Vehicle Accelerated Away from Officer

A supervisor was responding to the first crash in a cruiser when another vehicle ahead of the officer accelerated instead of making way for police.

The supervisor lost sight of the vehicle briefly and then, moments later, came across the second crashed vehicle.

Second Driver Tried to Flee from Police

“During the crash investigation, the driver confirmed he thought the supervisor was trying to stop him and he fled,” said the Sheriff’s Office.

Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the second crash. Both incidents are under investigation. Names, ages and charges were not released.
