Two Car Fires on I-295 and I-95 in Maine
Police are investigating a car fire on I-295 in Falmouth Saturday and another car fire Sunday on I-95 in Augusta.
Falmouth Car Fire on I-295
A car fire on I-295 in Falmouth stopped traffic near Mile Marker 12.
Fire in Southbound Lane
The fire was in the southbound lane. No one was injured.
Avoid Area
Troopers said drivers should avoid the area until the road could be cleared.
Traffic Lanes Opened
Both lanes of traffic have since reopened.
Augusta Car Fire on I-95
The car fire on I-95 in Augusta near Mile Marker 115 closed down both lanes of traffic on Sunday.
Drivers Advised to Avoid Area
Maine State Police advised drivers to avoid the area and to seek an alternate route.
Traffic Lanes Opened
One lane was initially opened up to allow traffic to pass. Both lanes were eventually opened.
Ongoing investigation
No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
