Two people were injured and taken to the hospital Monday and one person was flown by LifeFlight with serious injuries after a vehicle and tractor-trailer crashed in Sanford.

Injured Person Flown by LifeFlight to Hospital

The Sanford Police Department said The crash happened around 7:30 am at the intersection of Route 4 (Alfred Road) and New Dam Road.

Three People in Vehicle Injured

Three people in the vehicle were injured. The condition of the tractor-trailer driver was not made available. Names and ages were not released.

Three People Taken to the Hospital

Two of the injured people were transported to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford. The third person was flown by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Ongoing Investigation

Police said the crash investigation remains open.
