Three vehicles crashed on I-95 Tuesday evening after a car hit and killed a deer in York.

Vehicle Struck Deer on I-95

The Maine State Police said a  woman driving a Mitsubishi hit the deer around 7:13 pm. The vehicle was disabled. The woman got out and went to a safe location off the road.

Fuel Truck Hit Two Cars

A commercial fuel vehicle crested the hill and was unable to stop. The truck hit the Mitsubishi and pushed it into the median. The truck then veered into a BMW.

Deer Died and Drivers Injured

The deer did not survive. There were minor injuries to the drivers. No one was taken to the hospital.

Traffic Reduced to One Lane

Traffic was down to one lane for close to 15 minutes. The crash is under investigation.

Multi-Agency Response

Assisting Troopers on the scene was the Wells Fire Department, York Police Department, the Maine Turnpike Authority, National Wrecker Service and Troop K Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.
