
Three Displaced after Fire Destroyed Apartment Building in Maine
A fire destroyed an apartment building Monday night at 39 James Street in Auburn.
Apartment Building Fire
The Auburn Fire Department said three residents were accounted for and not injured.
Fast-Moving Fire
The 2.5 story building had “heavy smoke showing from the rear and roof area of the building. Crews dealt with heavy fire and smoke conditions on the second floor and attic space during the fast-moving fire,” said Auburn PD.
Severe Damage to Building
Firefighters controlled the blaze within 30 minutes. The apartment building had fire damage to the attic and rear second floor. All areas had significant water damage.
Cause of Fire Under Investigation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maine Fire Marshal.
