Thomaston Body Identified
The body of a man found in a wooded area in Thomaston has been positively identified.
State Police and the State Medical Examiner’s Office says the skeletal remains found in Thomaston last week are those of 41 year old Joshua Robichaud, a transient, who was last seen leaving the Knox County Jail last May. The positive ID came from work conducted by the State Police DNA lab.
Robichaud’s death is not considered suspicious, but the medical examiner has additional testing to be completed before finalizing a cause of death. The remains were found in a wooded area off Route 1 in Thomaston.
Robichaud had been arrested in May of 2016 in Lewiston on outstanding warrants from Knox County. He was transported to the Knox Jail and released from there after serving a short time. His relatives in North Carolina and Maine were notified of the identification.
