The Darling Of Chicago Hockey [VIDEO]
Former UMaine goalie Scott Darling got one of the loudest cheers when introduced in Chicago last night as the Blackhawks raised their NHL championship banner to the rafters.
Darling hails from just outside of the Chicago so when he got his NHL chance last year with the Blackhawks he became a hometown hero. He was a key to early round playoff success a year ago.
After the banner raising ceremony, The NY Rangers beat Chicago 3-2 in the opener. Darling did not play as starting goalie Corey Crawford gave up the three goals on 27 shots.
