The "All Valuables Removed" campaign is an effort by the Crime Prevention Association of New Brunswick, with participation from New Brunswick's police agencies to reduce theft from vehicles during the holidays.

S/Sgt. Jamie Melanson of the Codiac Regional RCMP said about the effort:

We know many of the thefts that take place this time of the year are crimes of opportunity. We want all shoppers to be aware of some simple steps they can take to help protect themselves while shopping."

You can get more info December 9th as the Tri-Community Codiac RCMP volunteers hand out pamphlets in Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview. You'll find a checklist to reduce the risk of theft, such as: placing valuables out of sight, locking doors, and parking in well-lit areas when shopping at night.

Contact the your local RCMP if you have any information about a theft or suspicious activity. You can stay anonymous by using Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by texting TIP212 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
