RCMP responded early Sunday morning to a complaint that a truck had been stolen from a residence on Tipperary Street in Shediac.

Shortly after the alleged theft, officers spotted the truck on Pleasant Lane but the suspects sped away down a dead-end road.  Police say the driver lost control of the truck and hit a flagpole support beam at the Shediac Marina. There were no injuries.

After a brief foot pursuit, two 17-year-old boys were arrested. One is from the Shediac area and the other from the Moncton area, according to the RCMP. Both were released on conditions.

The two teens are scheduled to appear in court on September 29 to face charges.
