It’s Happening Maine! Fenway Park Announces 2021 Concert Series
We had a bunch of concert announcements this week in New England. You remember concerts...when we all get together and go crazy with our favorite musicians? Making incredible memories with friends and sometimes, complete strangers! Rescheduled shows and some new shows have been announced at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, The Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, Rock Row in Westbrook, and Darling's Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor. And today the Boston Red Sox announces their Summer Concert Series. All of these Fenway dates are make-up dates from 2020. I hope you held on to your tickets! All the shows are tentative based on how the pandemic goes. But the fact that we may actually see LIVE MUSIC this summer warms my heart.

9 Amazing Acts That Played As Opening Bands at the Civic Center in Portland, Maine
The Cumberland County Civic Center, now the Cross Insurance Arena has seen hundreds of concerts since its opening in 1977. Just about every great, major band in rock and roll has visited us in Portland at one time or another. We were looking at our Civic Center Bible the other day and we were amazed at some of the OPENING bands that have played. Some are long gone, like Horslips, Nantucket, Ambrosia, and Moon Martin to name a few. And then there are bands that went on to superstardom. And then there are lineups where the opener and the headliner make NO sense at all together.
Do You Remember Concerts at The Tree Cafe in Portland?
Do You Remember Concerts at The Tree Cafe in Portland?
But back in the day, the Tree Cafe was a fantastic spot to see up-and-coming bands. It was a pretty cool setup with a lower section where you could be really close to the band, and an upper balcony where if you dangled over the railing after having a few pints, you could probably jump right on the stage and not break a leg. Not that I thought about it from time to time
