And if you're willing to hit the road and travel, Cheapism and AOL have deemed a little BBQ joint in Monson, Maine, as one of the best in the country.
Spring Creek Bar-B-Q in Maine Named One of Cheapism's Favorite Barbecue Restaurants
Some would call Spring Creek Bar-B-Q a destination restaurant since people don't regularly mark Monson, Maine, on the map for an extended vacation.
The small joint feels like its been peeled directly out of the deep south, specializing in Texas-style barbecue.
But after nearly two decades in business, visiting Spring Creek Bar-B-Q comes with some conditions.
For instance, there's no set menu. What they serve is what is available.
There's also no set hours, As their Facebook page proclaims, their hours are hit or miss and on a whim.

Bourdain gleefully dives into some smoked meats while thoroughly enjoying the unpretentiousness of it all.
Spring Creek has seen an influx of Bourdain fans visiting their small spot over the years but there's also room a few more at the dinner table.
