Heavy Snowfall Friday Across Much of Maine and New Brunswick
Snow will overspread most of Maine and New Brunswick on Friday, dumping up to a foot of snow in some areas.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for southern Aroostook County where snowfall totals are expected to range from 3 and 6 inches. The Presque Isle area could end up with 1-3 inches of snow by the end of the day. Lesser amounts are forecast for Caribou and northward.
Winter storm warnings have been issued for Hancock and Washington Counties until 7 this evening with 8-12" of snow possible. Forecasters say the Bangor area should wind up with 4-8 inches.
Environment Canada predicts about 5 centimetres of snow for Carleton County, New Brunswick Friday. The snow will leave just a dusting to 3 centimetres to the north in Victoria and Madawaska Counties. Heavy snowfall is expected in Fredericton and much of southern New Brunswick.
On Wednesday, 3-6 inches of snow fell across Aroostook County. Most of that snow melted as temperatures held steady in the mid 40's throughout much of the day Thursday.
