A Sheriff’s Deputy and a 44-year-old man were injured Friday after a two-vehicle crash in Waterboro.
Two Men Injured after Deputy Rear-Ended Vehicle
The York County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Stephen Gould rear-ended Matthew Cole from North Waterboro.
Afternoon Crash on Main Street
The collision happened on Route 202 (Main Street) around 1 pm.
Driver was Turning When Cruiser Rear-Ended Vehicle
“Cole, who was turning east on Hamilton Road, stopped before Deputy Gould could stop in time before colliding with Cole,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Driving Marked Cruiser when the Collision Happened
Deputy Gould was driving a marked cruiser when the crash occurred.

Both Men Injured and Given First Aid at the Crash Site
Both men were given medical attention at the site of the crash.

Deputy Transported to the Hospital and Driver Treated at the Scene
Deputy Gould was taken to the hospital and released. Cole was treated and released at the scene.

Vehicles Towed and Ongoing Crash Investigation
Both vehicles were towed away. The Maine State Police is investigating the crash.
