Seven children and one woman escaped a house fire in Wayne early Friday morning.
Seven Children and One Adult Escaped and Survived
One of the boys smelled smoke around 1 am and helped get the family out of the house and called 911, said the Kennebec Journal.
Pets Died in the Fire
Several pets died in the fire. No one else was injured. The house was completely destroyed.
Fire Started in the Garage
The fire is under investigation. Fire officials said the fire appeared to have started in the garage by accident.
