Hours after the Boston Red Sox placed Chris Sale on the Injured List with left elbow inflammation, Eduardo Rodriguez pitched 7.1 shut-out innings allowing just 4 hits as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-0. The win on Saturday night was Boston's 4th straight. It was their 7th shut-out of 2019

Rodriguez finished with 4 strikeouts and earned his career high 14th win. The 7.1 innings he pitched was a season high and the most since September 23, 2017 when he went 7.2 innings against Cincinnati.

Matt Barnes pitched the rest of the 8th inning and Brandon Workman closed out the 9th inning.

Brock Holt put Boston on the board in the 5th inning with a solo homer. He's now batting .318 in the season.

Mookie Betts was 2-3 with 2 doubles. He leads Major League Baseball with 113 runs, scoring another run Saturday night.
