According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, nearly 78,000 Werner Ladders being sold at Home Depot and Lowe's are being recalled.

The report states that the reason for the recall is due to the possibility of the product breaking, thus causing the user to fall which can bring about bodily injury or death.

The recall includes 5 different models of the multi-purpose, telescoping aluminum ladders as of June 20.

Here is a list of the recalled units:

  • MT-IAA-13A – 13 feet
  • MT-IAA-17A – 17 feet
  • MT-IAA-22A – 22 feet
  • MT-IAA-26 – 26 feet
  • MT-IAA-26A – 26 feet

These ladders were sold at Home Depots and Lowe's from April  - May 2018.

According to the Werner website, users are recommended to stop using the ladder and return the unit to where they were purchased for a full refund.
