Pump Prices Continue Their Upward Climb
Gas prices continue to rise, not only in New England, but across the country.
The national average of gasoline went up last week by 1.9 cents a gallon to $2.60 a gallon. That's 11.2 cents a gallon higher than a month ago and 34 cents a gallon higher than at this time last year.
According to GasBuddy.com's survey of gas outlets, prices at the pump in Maine rose 1.3 cents to $2.64 a gallon. In Presque Isle, most places were showing $2.81 a gallon Tuesday morning.
Elsewhere around New England, New Hampshire a price increase of 1.6 cents to an average $2.56 a gallon. And in Vermont, gasoline went up the most, 3.2 cents a gallon to $2.66 a gallon on average.
