Pump Prices Continue Their Upward Climb
The price of gasoline continues to rise around New England.
The daily survey by GasBuddy.com shows that the price at the pump here in Maine jumped up 4.2 cents a gallon to an average price of $2.86. In Presque Isle, gasoline rose to $2.97 a gallon at most outlets.
In New Hampshire, gas went up 5.2 cents a gallon to $2.79 a gallon on average. Vermont's average was $2.85 a gallon, an increase of 4.6 cents.
Meanwhile, the average price of gas nationally rose 15.4 cents a gallon in the past month to $2.86. That's 53.8 cents a gallon higher than a year ago at this time.
