Price of Gasoline Still Heading Down
Good news. As temperatures have been falling, so have gas prices around New England.
According to the latest survey from GasBuddy.com, pump prices here in Maine fell 3.1 cents from last week to an average $2.42 per gallon. In Presque Isle, as of Tuesday morning, most stations were reporting a price of $2.63 a gallon.
Gas in New Hampshire was averaging $2.49 a gallon, a drop of 3.6 cents from the previous week. Vermont's price at the pumps was 4.3 cents a gallon lower than last week at $2.54 on average.
The national average has also been heading downward. Prices across the country are 16.2 cents a gallon cheaper than they were a month ago, but are 22.3 cents a gallon higher than last year at this time. This is the fifth straight week that gas prices have fallen.
