Presque Isle Man Involved in Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-95
Maine State Police responded to a tractor-trailer crash early Friday morning on Interstate 95 in Island Falls.
Troopers say 37-year-old Geary Bonville of Presque Isle was traveling north in his 1986 Peterbilt truck and trailer around 4:45 a.m. Bonville lost control of the rig, struck several sections of guardrail and then went off the highway into a stand of trees. He was not injured in the crash, according to Lt. Brian Harris.
The tractor-trailer sustained significant damage and was towed away by Westerdahl's Towing of Littleton.
Trooper Caleb Adams was assisted by Tr. Todd Stetson and Tr. Rob Flynn of the Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit. Personnel from Maine DEP also responded to the scene to investigate fuel that had leaked into a waterway.
There's no word on the cause of the accident.
