Pittsfield Woman Sentenced for Conspiracy to Distribute
A Pittsfield woman has been sentenced for conspiring to distribute oxycodone and heroin.
55 year old Deborah Toothaker, of Pittsfield, was sentenced Tuesday to 46 months in prison along with three years of supervised release. She pled guilty back in July.
According to court records, for over a year between June 2015 and October 2016, Toothaker conspired with others to distribute oxycodone and heroin in the Newport area. Toothaker obtained the drugs from out-of-state and sold it to customers from her residence and area motels.
Sentencing Judge John A. Woodcock said that the sentence was warranted because the defendant “chose to make money off other people’s misery.”
The U.S. DEA agents and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
