Flagg continues to live up to the hype, turning in a career night against the Utah Jazz and becoming the youngest player in NBA history to score more than 40 points in a single game.
On Monday, December 15th, 2025, the No. 1 overall pick became the first 18-year-old ever to reach the 40-point mark, adding yet another milestone to an already impressive start to his career.

Flagg became just the fourth rookie in Mavericks history to score 40 points in a game, joining Jay Vincent, Mark Aguirre, and Roddy Beaubois.
With 42 points, Flagg also became the youngest player—and the first 18-year-old—to reach the 40-point mark, surpassing LeBron James’ previous under-19 record of 37 points set in 2003.

And there you have it! With 42 points, Cooper Flagg now owns the record for the most points ever scored in a single NBA game by an 18-year-old.
