One woman died and one woman was rescued after a house fire Thursday morning in Mexico, Maine.
One Dead and One Saved after House Fire
The fire was burning from the front porch when firefighters arrived at 5 Tucker Street around 7:09 am.
Woman Rescued with Ladder
One woman was rescued from the house with a ladder. She was not injured.
Female Body Found after Fire
The body of another woman was found inside the home after the fire was put out.
Medical Examiner Autopsy
Her body was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy. Names and ages were not released.
Fire Investigation and “No Danger to Public”
The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office and Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South are conducting an investigation. Officials said there is no danger to the public.
