As we start to gear up for fall, gas prices around northern New England are remaining fairly steady.

According to the daily survey by of gas stations in the region, Maine saw a price rise of 1.3 cents a gallon over the last week to an average price per gallon of $2.84. As of Monday afternoon, prices at most stations in Presque Isle checked in at $2.91 a gallon.

Pump prices in New Hampshire increased a little over half a penny to $2.77 a gallon while in neighboring Vermont, gas prices dropped just under a half penny to an average $2.87 per gallon.

The price of gas nationally rose 1.6 cents a gallon in the past week to an average $2.84.

GasBuddy spokesperson Patrick DeHaan says once the changeover to the winter blend of gasoline occurs, we should see some price relief.
