New Commander for the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency
A former deputy police chief for the city of Bangor has been named as the new MDEA Commander for Division II.
Last night the Aroostook County commissioners named Peter Arno, a 25-year veteran to law enforcement, the new commander, effective August 1st. Arno will replace Darrell Crandall who will become the chief deputy of the Sheriff’s Department.
Arno comes with a wealth of investigative experience, as he has served as field office supervisor in the Bangor MDEA office, with a federal drug task force in the early 1990s, and in the U.S. attorney’s office in Bangor on high-level drug distribution cases.
County administrator Doug Beaulieu swore Arno in during last night's meeting.
