The Northeast District RCMP in Doaktown began an investigation in January after receiving a report that James Nash had been involved in sexual interference with two young children. Police say the incidents occurred between June 2013 and January 2015 in the Doaktown area. The victims’ identities are protected by a court order.

Nash was arrested on January 11 and pleaded guilty on June 8.  He appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court on Tuesday, September 15 where he was sentenced. RCMP say Nash will be on the National Sex Offender Registry for life.
