State Police are looking for a truck involved in an apparent hit-and-run Saturday on Route 11 in Masardis.

Police say Murray Gorham of Oxbow was parked on the shoulder of the road using his cell phone, when a pickup approached from behind and crashed into the left rear of Gorham’s 2011 Ford SUV.

The pickup then crossed the center line into the path of oncoming traffic, nearly hitting another vehicle. The truck did not stop.

Troopers say neither Gorham nor his passenger were injured. The collision caused significant damage. The Ashland Police Department assisted at the scene.

Maine State Police are searching for the truck involved in the crash. It's believed to be a later model red GMC or Chevrolet pickup and is likely in the Oxbow, Masardis or Ashland area.

If you have any information please call Trooper Ryan Kilcollins at (207) 532-5400. Callers can remain anonymous.

This is the second hit-and-run crash reported in Masardis in the past month.
