
43-Year-Old Man Sentenced for Illegally Reentering U.S. in Maine
A 43-year-old man was sentenced for Illegally Reentering the United States after a prior removal.
Sentenced to Time Served
Juan Mendez-Morales from Mexico was given time served (approximately 70 days) by U.S. District Judge Stacey D. Neumann in Portland.
Entered a Guilty Plea
He pleaded guilty to the charges on November 19, 2025.

Apprehended After a Traffic Stop in Maine
Mendez-Morales was taken into custody on October 22, 2025 following a traffic stop.
Admitted He was in the Country Illegally and Had No Documents
“When a United States Border Patrol Agent arrived, Mendez-Morales admitted that he was a citizen of Mexico and had no immigration documents allowing him to be in the U.S.,” according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Illegal Alien Ordered Out of the Country in 2013
An immigration judge had previously ordered him removed from the country in October, 2013.
United States Border Patrol Investigated the Case
The case was investigated by the United States Border Patrol.
