
Man and Dog Injured after Pickup Fled Police and Crashed in Maine
A man and a small dog were seriously injured in a crash Tuesday after the driver fled from police and almost collided with a cruiser in Westbrook.
Officers Responded to Call of an Erratic Driver
The Westbrook Police Department responded around 2:21 pm to a 911 call about an erratic driver on Spring Street.
911 Caller Said Pickup Drove Off the Road and Then Sped Off
The caller told police that the white pickup truck drove off the road from a seizure or overdose. During the call, the pickup sped away.
Truck Passed Several Vehicle as Police Tried to Stop Driver
Officers located the truck and tried to stop it as the driver passed several other vehicles.
Pickup Nearly Collided with Police Cruiser Before Roll Over Crash
The pickup almost collided head-on with a Westbrook Police cruiser. The man then crashed and rolled over.

Man Seriously Injured and Transported to Hospital
The man was injured and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Dog Critically Injured and Taken to Vet
A small dog in the pickup was critically injured and taken to an emergency veterinary clinic.

“More information, to include the operator’s name, any criminal charges, and an update on the dog’s condition will be released in the near future,” said Westbrook PD.
