Popular Animated Series Really Screwed Up What Maine Looks Like
I'm a big fan of the animated series Invincible on Prime Video, but I just saw an episode that screwed up what Maine looks like on their map.
Invincible on Prime Video
Invincible is one of several comic book series that have been adapted for television. It was created by Robert Kirkman who also created The Walking Dead, which became a juggernaut of a TV series with several spinoffs.
Invincible centers around teenager Mark Grayson, the son of Omin-Man, the most powerful superhero on Earth. As Mark grows up, he develops powers of his own. Even though it's animation, the series has many graphic scenes. Keep that in mind just in case your kids want to watch it.
Is That Supposed to be Maine?
Throughout the most recent seasons, a map is often shown in a situation room on the show, but something about it looks so wrong. Every single state in the country on this map looks correct, except for Maine. What's going on there?
It turns out that whoever created this map made a big mistake.
I-95 and I-295 Are the Maine Border?
Someone needs a lesson on where the Maine borders are.
Invincible confused I-95 with Maine’s border byu/blakey207 inMaine
Here's a Google map of the State of Maine. I've highlighted where I-95 and I-295 are. The black line shows I-95 from Kittery to Portland, where their border took I-295 up to Gardiner and merges with back to I-95.
Here's a look at the two maps side-by-side. Looks familiar doesn't it?
I love Invincible, but come on guys! You put everything east of I-95 as Canada! Do better.
