Firefighters responded to two fires over the weekend, one that destroyed two sheds in Turner and another that significantly damaged a house in Farmington.

First Fire Destroyed Two Sheds

Two sheds were fully involved when crews arrived on the scene in Turner around 5 pm Saturday evening. The family home was not on fire.

Sheds Adjacent to Each Other

The Turner Fire Department said “the sheds were located immediately adjacent to one another, with no involvement or damage to any residential structures.”

Both Sheds Destroyed

The sheds were completely destroyed and a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Second Weekend Fire in Maine

The second fire happened Sunday around 2 pm at 283 Red Schoolhouse Road in Farmington near the Troll Valley Campground.

Structure Fire Brought Under Control with Mutual Aid

The Farmington Fire Department said “Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a working structure fire and quickly brought the fire under control with assistance from area mutual aid departments.”

Cause of Fire Determined by Fire Marshal

The Fire Marshal was called in to investigate the fire and determined the fire originated in a confined space in the ceiling between the basement and first floor of the building.

Fire Significantly Damaged Family Home

The house was significantly damaged. The Investigation is ongoing.
