The price at the pumps for gasoline continues its upward climb.

The average price of gas in Maine climbed another 2.6 cents from last week to $2.39 a gallon, according to price monitoring website Prices in Presque Isle were nearly 20 cents higher at $2.57 a gallon.

Elsewhere around New England, showed the average price to fill up your tank was $2.32 a gallon. That's up 3.5 cents from last week. Prices in Vermont were up just a penny from last week to $2.42 a gallon.

The national average also rose three cents over the past two weeks to $2.46 per gallon, an increase of 13 cents per gallon during the last month and 28 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
