Caribou Police say that around 1:40 p.m., 24-year-old James Wadsworth of Ashland was driving south in a 2005 Chevy Avalanche when he lost control and skidded into the northbound lane. His SUV collided head-on with a 2012 Ford Escape driven by 63-year-old Mike McNally of Ashland.

McNally, a videographer for WAGM-TV, was traveling to an assignment with news director Kelly O'Mara. Meanwhile, a 2012 Jeep Liberty, operated by 70-year-old Conrad Beaulieu of Madawaska was traveling north and struck the back of Wadsworth's vehicle.

The crash happened on a stretch of  Route 1 between the Caribou Inn and Convention Center and Fort Street. Caribou Police and Caribou Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene, along with the Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service.

Caribou Police say all five people involved were transported to Cary Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Speed and road conditions were the contributing factors in this accident, police say. It was snowing at the time.

Officer Kegan McPherson of the Caribou Police Department continues to investigate.
