One person was taken to the hospital and a house was completely destroyed Tuesday night after a fire in Wayne.

Everyone Inside Escaped and One Person Taken to the Hospital with Injuries

“All occupants of the home were able to exit the residence safely. One individual sustained minor injury and was transported by Winthrop Ambulance to a local hospital for medical evaluation,” according to Shannon Moss, Public Information Officer, Maine Department of Public Safety.

The Wayne Fire Department responded to the fire at 29 Wood Road around 6:25 pm.

The house was fully engulfed in flames shortly after firefighters arrived on the scene.

Ongoing Fire Investigation by the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office

The Maine Fire Marshal’s Office was called to assist and investigate the blaze. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Officials said the cause of the fire was undetermined due to the extent of the damage.

Several Agencies and Departments Assisted at the Scene of the Fire

Multiple agencies and departments provided mutual aid and were needed to put out the fire.
