A 42-year-old man died Monday morning after a pickup truck collided with a potato truck in Caribou.

Pickup Truck and Potato Truck Crash

Chad Gagnon from Caribou died after his 2006 Chevy pickup truck crashed with a 2010 Freightliner potato truck around 7:40 am at the intersection of West Presque Isle Road and Buck Road.

Police: Possible Factors in Crash

The Caribou Police Department said driver inattention may have been a factor in the accident, according to WAGM News.

Crash Investigation  and Reconstruction Ongoing

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The Presque Isle Police Department is reconstructing the crash. 

No Additional Injuries Reported

The potato truck was driven by Frederick Boyd. There were no other injuries.

Road Closed for Several Hours

West Presque Isle Road was closed for hours and reopened around 1 pm.

Police and First Responders Assisting on the Scene

First responders on the scene included the Maine State Police, Caribou Fire and Ambulance and the Caribou Police Department.
